Who we are

Founded in 2017, the West Virginia Blue Line K9 Association is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to supporting, honoring, and advancing law enforcement K9 teams throughout the state of West Virginia. Built on the principles of service, integrity, and community partnership, the Association provides essential resources, training opportunities, and ongoing support for working K9 units and their handlers.

The Association’s members consist exclusively of active and retired K9 handlers from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, bringing decades of combined experience in patrol, detection, tracking, and public safety operations. This collective expertise ensures that both handlers and their canine partners receive the highest level of guidance, advocacy, and professional development.

Through community outreach, fundraising initiatives, and strong partnerships, the West Virginia Blue Line K9 Association works to enhance public safety, strengthen the bond between officers and the communities they serve, and ensure that every K9 team is equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively.

Dedicated to those who protect and serve—on four legs and two—the Association proudly upholds the legacy and ongoing commitment of Kanawha County’s finest K9 handlers.
